USANA EVEREST EXPEDITION: The Team has reached the top of the world on May 15, 2004

It is on May 15 2004 at 11:08 pm (EST) (or May 16 at 8:35 am Nepal time) that the USANA Everest Team has planted the USANA flag on top of the highest peak in the world. The USANA climbing team, Mario Dutil, Maxime Jean et Claude St-Hilaire, was able to ascend on its first attempt with an ideal temperature: -26ยบ C (-15 F), no wind or clouds and a perfect visibility. At base camp, on the radio, the support staff heard: "USANA Base camp, USANA Base camp, SUMMIT SUMMIT SUMMIT!! Me, Mario and Maxime are on top of Everest, over."

On their way back:

After having reached the top of the world, our team descended to camp #4 where they were able to rest for a night. On May 17, they reached base camp and were being taken care of by the support staff. They are recuperating pretty fast from the extreme efforts they had to go through while climbing the 8850 meters of the Nepal mountain.

The team would like to extend their gratitude to the USANA family and to Dave Wentz, President of USANA Health Sciences who all made the expedition possible. If you want to read about the entire USANA Everest expedition, please go to http://www.usanaeverest.com . The Discovery Channel will also be producing a series of 6 episodes on USANA Everest TEAM that will be broadcasted in November 2004.

Sincerely Yours,
